Everton boss David Moyes is delighted to have Phil Jagielka available.

Jagielka made his playing return in the Europa League defeat at Sporting Lisbon. The ex-Sheffield United centre-back is still striving for full fitness and Moyes is unlikely to risk him at Premier League level just yet.

"It's great to have him back because he was really important to us last season," the Scot said.

"He missed out on the cup final last season and we haven't seen him since. It's been a little longer than we'd hoped for, to be honest.

"I needed him to be part of the squad and on the bench against Sporting and he ended up being called on.

"He got some action which will do him good, but whether he's up to match fitness and ready to play yet is debatable."
