Everton boss Dave Moyes believes Mikel Arteta's recent form dip is down to him trying too hard.
"He has great ability and to that he has added the work-rate of British players - that is why I say he is a bit special.
"Maybe he needs to remember that and settle down and work hard to find the consistency he needs.
"He's important to us and we've missed him in recent weeks.
"Last season we asked him to add goals to his game and he did. This season hasn't been so good. He only has one from open play and knows that is an area he should improve.
"Mikel has a big part to play for us over the second part of the season.
"Perhaps he's been too elaborate but we know what he can do.
"He has just got to get down to working hard and trying to find his best form for what is to come."
