Everton boss David Moyes is upset he will be losing Tim Cahill in midseason for the Asian Cup.
In recent years Everton have lost players to the African Cup of Nations, while the Asia Cup (featuring Australia) takes place in January 2011.
Moyes said: "The bigger gripe for people like myself is when players go away to the African Nations Cup or, as Tim Cahill is going to have to do, the Asia Cup and they are missing for four weeks when the Club are paying their wages.
"We accept the Fifa dates, the Euros and the World Cup but these competitions in the middle of the season are really a hindrance on the clubs and if I was the man paying the wages at Everton I wouldn't be happy with losing a player for a month during the season."
