Everton boss David Moyes has confirmed a move for free agent James McFadden.
Celtic and Wolves are also chasing the former Birmingham City attacker.
"Hopefully something can be done in the next few days," said Celtic boss Neil Lennon, adding: "Hopefully he brings us some creativity, goals as well. I think he would be good in the dressing room, as well."
However, Everton and Wolves remain in the hunt, with Moyes confirming yesterday his club are making a late attempt to lure McFadden back to Goodison.
"We have been talking to James and his people," he said.
Molineux boss Mick McCarthy also confessed: "James isn't training with us at the moment. We have made him an offer. But so, too, I believe have Everton and Celtic. We are waiting to hear - but our offer is our offer. That's it."
