Everton boss David Moyes is ready to rush Sylvain Distin into his line-up for Sunday's clash with Wigan Athletic.

"We need centre-halves so he could play,'' said the Everton boss. "And we are close on one or two more deals.

"But Yakubu's not ready. It's great to have him back but he's several weeks away from starting.''
