Everton boss Moyes accepts Chelsea rightful winners

Everton boss Dave Moyes admits they struggled to test Chelsea during last night's home defeat.

Michael Essien's goal was enough for the visitors and Moyes told Everton's website afterwards: "I'm disappointed that we didn't take anything, but we didn't play well enough to take anything out of the game.

"You never want to lose a goal, but before the break it makes it a little bit more difficult. It's hard to get goals against them."

Everton were without Leon Osman and Mikel Arteta for the game, but Moyes refused to use the absence of the duo as an excuse for the defeat

"The boys were here, they knew the way it was," added Moyes. "We felt short and we look short but we're only really missing a few key players."
