Everton manager David Moyes has admitted he is a big fan of the fact that Tim Cahill has remained so humble despite him joining world football’s elite.

Moyes is in town for Everton’s Down Under tour and was quick to praise his star midfielder who has been a revelation since joining the Toffees from Millwall in 2004.

“What do I like about Tim Cahill? I like that he is just Tim Cahill," Moyes said.

"Tim is not just a player. For me, it's the man, the person. Since he came to us from Millwall, he has been great for Everton and great for me. He has great maturity.

"As a player he is very effective in both boxes. It is a reason why he is liked by lots of managers, lots of clubs. He has the ability to do that and arrive in the box."

And Moyes added that if the next Tim Cahill was to pop up somewhere in Australia, the Merseyside club will be glad to have him.

"We try to keep tabs on all the best young boys all over the place, whether in Australia or elsewhere. Obviously, Europe is our main shopping window but if there are any more Tim Cahills we will gladly have them,” he added.
