Everton boss Roberto Martinez won't rush to offer Garth Barry a permanent deal.
The midfielder is on-loan from Manchester City.
Asked if he would do a deal in January, the Everton boss said: "No, Barry is here until the end of the season, that cannot be affected.
"All we want is for him to enjoy his football and to be effective for Everton and then we will take it from there.
"We are blessed with quality in the squad. We don't want to lose any player, but there is a chance now for others in the squad. Then we will assess in January."
