Everton boss Martinez slams Eto'o's French critics

Everton boss Roberto Martinez won't hear criticism of veteran striker Samuel Eto'o.

Martinez is puzzled by a poll in French newspaper L'Equipe which voted striker Eto'o as the world's most arrogant footballer.

Martinez said: "I can't even see a sign or anything like that. There must be a reason why they have said it. I don't know what they mean with arrogant here.

"If anything, Samuel has been incredible in the manner in which he has come and been able to open his experience to the youngsters and help everyone at the club.

"Remember, there are not too many footballers who have his experience, success and know how in football. He is a real joy to have around the place so I can't see where that poll is coming from.

"He is still as hungry as the first day. He wants to win, he wants to achieve. He's got pristine conduct around the place. Someone like Ross can learn a huge amount from Samuel."
