Everton boss Martinez reveals lengthy absence for Howard

Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard faces six weeks out with a calf injury.

The Blues goalkeeper was withdrawn at half-time of the Boxing Day clash with Stoke City, with Joel Robles deputising since.

And at his press conference on Tuesday morning, manager Roberto Martinez provided an unfortunate prognosis.

"Tim will be out for between five and six weeks," he said.

"It is an injury to his left calf. As a goalkeeper it's really unusual to get an injury be kicking a ball."
