Everton boss Martinez reacts to protestors: I cannot hide real disappointment for all of us

Everton boss Roberto Martinez was relieved after their 2-1 win over Bournemouth.

Over 100 fans remained behind for more than 90 minutes following the much-needed 2-1 home victory over Bournemouth - which also included a flypast banner protest - to express their discontent with 'Martinez Out' flags and chants.

"I am the manager of the football club and I am the one that takes the responsibility. We are in the results business," he said.

"Football is a game full of passion and emotions and I understand what comes when you have not won enough games.

"I can understand we have been through a very painful time but we had high hopes; we wanted to get into the final and we have had eight (league) defeats at home.

"I cannot hide that it is a real disappointment for all of us, not just me. We want to learn from the mistakes.

"My intention is to win football games and to be successful and that doesn't change.

"It is a privilege and an honour to be manager of Everton."
