Everton boss Roberto Martinez is chasing CSKA Moscow striker Keisuke Honda.
The Daily Star says Martinez is keen to make him his first signing since checking in as David Moyes' successor at Goodison because of concerns about Marouane Fellaini's future.
The Japan international comes off contract in December.
