Everton boss Martinez furious with taunting Diego Costa

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has hit out at Diego Costa after defeat to Chelsea. Martinez accused Diego Costa of failing to respect English football traditions when he goaded Seamus Coleman during Chelsea's 6-3 win at Goodison Park on Saturday night.

Jose Mourinho suggested the Everton players were trying to get Costa into trouble with the referee, but the normally mild-mannered Martinez hit back at the claims.

"His behaviour was quite unique for the British game," Martínez said. "There is a professionalism in the league and a real respect. It is going to take time for him to get used to it.

"He said something to Coleman but he will learn - there is a respect and you can understand why the players were unhappy about that. He will understand this league is different and unique and he needs to adapt, rather than the league adapting to him."
