Everton boss Martinez eager to snap up Man Utd's Cleverley

Everton boss Roberto Martinez is ready to move for Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley.

The Liverpool Echo says Martinez is a huge admirer of the 24-year-old, who has fallen further down the midfield pecking order at United following the £32million arrival of Ander Herrera from Athletic Bilbao.

Cleverley played under Martinez for a season on loan at Wigan Athletic and the Catalan has continued to keep tabs on the player's progress and was previously linked with a move in the January transfer market.

Everton, though, are not willing to break the bank for the England international, who missed out on the World Cup squad after a poor last campaign.
