Everton boss Roberto Martinez wants to make a new striker signing this week.
The Mirror says Martinez has spoken to Samuel Eto'o's camp and feels he can agree terms with the veteran striker, who is a free agent since leaving Chelsea.
Martinez confirmed his interest in the Cameroonian.
"At the moment, if I'm honest with you, I'm looking at all the options.
"While the window is open, we are looking at anyone who can help us and also looking at our injured players and seeing how they react. Oviedo and Kone will have a big say on how we end the window."
Eto'o's age does not put Martinez off the Cameroon star, saying: "No, because every player can contribute in a different way.
"It's about trying to see what we need in the squad and how we are going to repeat our first-half performance over 90 minutes."
