Everton boss Roberto Martinez cannot guarantee keeping hold of Ross Barkley.
Barkley is a lifelong Blue, but Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City have shown an interest since he broke into the Three Lions squad.
Asked if it was realistic to believe he could keep Barkley, Martinez said: “It's a great question. When you want to build a project around a player at Everton you need a player who wants to take that role.
“It's one thing as manager wanting that, but if the player doesn't feel the same way you can't do it.
“From now until the end of the season will have a massive bearing on how we're going to approach next season, and the role of Ross Barkley will be vital to what we can achieve."
