Everton boss Koeman wants Memphis as Bolasie cover

Everton boss Ronald Koeman is ready to swoop for Manchester United attacker Memphis Depay.

Yannick Bolasie damaged his cruciate knee ligament in a collision with Manchester United's Anthony Martial in Sunday's 1-1 draw at Goodison Park.

Bolasie must still undergo further tests and scans before deciding upon a date for surgery.

But a spell of at least 12 months out of the game looks likely - as does a move for unwanted United winger Depay..

Koeman said: “Maybe it's necessary that we really need to sign somebody in that position, yes.

"We are still looking for some good options and maybe it is more necessary now than it was before because we have lost Yannick for a long time.

“It's a big loss for everybody - for the player, his team mates, the whole club.

“It's a long-term injury. He's travelling to London and then will have a second opinion about an operation.

“Normally, the operation will be next week. It's really a big disappointment for everybody."
