Everton boss Koeman: Now I steal methods from Pep!

Everton boss Ronald Koeman says there's no envy of good friend Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

Guardiola, now a title-winning manager with Barcelona and Bayern Munich, is classed as the superior boss.

It is a comparison which Koeman accepts as he admits it is “fantastic" what his friend has achieved.

“He doesn't pick my brains now," said the Dutchman, who spotted Guardiola's managerial qualities early on.

“You can't compare the time when he was young and he came to the first team and now.

“When we have dinner together we speak about nice stories from our time together at Barcelona. The dynamic is different. Now he is maybe the best manager.

“I used to give the advice, but when I was the coach of Feyenoord I sent Giovanni van Bronckhorst to watch three days of Bayern Munich's training sessions when Pep was there.

“I have stolen some exercises, yes! Of course, you like to learn. I can learn from other managers and other exercises. That is good to know.

“We have similar feelings about football, we like to dominate, we like to have the ball and it is also about the qualities of your players."
