Everton boss Ronald Koeman has explained dropping Joel Robles for their 0-0 draw at West Ham.
Robles run of 17 consecutive starts came to an end on Saturday when Koeman named him on the bench for the game at the London Stadium and recalled Maarten Stekelenburg.
“He was dropped, yes," Koeman confirmed.
“It is always difficult, those kind of decisions.
"We started the season with Maarten, we named him as the first goalkeeper, and he did well.
“He got his injury, it took more time than expected and the team was on a good run.
“Joel showed really good performances but he dropped his level in the last few weeks and that was the reason to change."
