Everton boss Ronald Koeman remains a fan of Lyon winger Memphis Depay.

Depay left Manchester United for OL last season, despite interest from Everton.

Koeman said: "Of course the club didn't get an agreement with Man United and Depay chose to move to Lyon.

“He's still a young player, he's one of the Dutch talents for the future.

“He's always dangerous even when he's not on his level in the game he has qualities in free kicks and shots outside the box - he's that dangerous player we need to control."

He added: “It's the past and I'm not the right man to explain why something is not done.

“He didn't play a lot for United and he's still a young player. I like the player and we tried [to sign him] but we couldn't reach an agreement."
