Everton boss Allardyce wants to add 'important' fulltime appointment

Everton boss Sam Allardyce wants to add a sports psychologist permanently to his staff.

Allardyce has revealed that Dr Martin Littlewood of Liverpool John Moores University – who previously worked for him at Bolton – had been helping his squad to help try and cure their travel sickness.

He said: “I think it will be one for us to continue all the way through now.

“For me it's very important to secure a full-time sports psychologist – the right one – full-time, seven days a week. Like your coaches, they're just as important and we're seeing that in this country now.

"We can use that to add another string to our bow to make our players become even better.

“Winning at Stoke was a great victory for us and now we must try and get 50 points as quickly as we can."
