Everton boss Sam Allardyce insists Wayne Rooney has a future with them next season.
Rooney, Allardyce insists, has a long-term role to play. The forward has spoken with Allardyce this week following the angry reaction to his substitution in the Merseyside derby but there is no lingering problem.
"A reaction from a player of disappointment when he comes off is to be expected," said Allardyce.
"You would ask them not to do it in the public eye but sometimes that can't be helped. He is proud being an Everton fan and that's where the reaction came from."
