Everton boss Roberto Martinez is chasing CSKA Moscow attacker Keisuke Honda.

The Mirror says Martinez is attempting to get his Everton career started with a bang by making a bid for CSKA Moscow midfielder Keisuke Honda.

Reports in Italy today claim a £5m bid has been made for the Japanese player, who is out of contract in December and would be available on a free.

In the last few days it had been claimed Milan were offering a contract to the player with a view of signing him for a low fee, but news of Everton's offer has livened up the chase.
