Everton insist they made no move for Nuno Gomes this summer.
The Portuguese legend striker has just signed a two-year deal with Blackburn Rovers.
The Liverpool Echo reports Blues say they are 'bemused' by comments from Gomes that he rejected a move to Goodison in favour of relegated Blackburn Rovers.
