Everton boss David Moyes axed Royston Drenthe for their FA Cup semi over poor timekeeping.
The Daily Mail says the breaking point came towards the end of last week when Drenthe was sent home after failing to report on time for an important session at Everton's Finch Farm training base. It remains to be seen what disciplinary action the club will take.
Moyes has offered support to Drenthe since signing him on loan from Real Madrid last August, but his lifestyle has been the source of persistent rumours on Merseyside and Everton were forced to deny last month that he had been sacked.
This indiscretion, however, has ended his chances of securing a permanent move.
