Everton appoint Steve Walsh as new Director of Football

Everton have named Steve Walsh as new Director of Football.

The Daily Mail says Everton have completed a deal to make Walsh their new Director of Football after coming to an agreement with Leicester City to secure his release.

New Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is anxious to bring in his own players this summer, given that he has only made one signing so far - reserve goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg - and things should now start to improve.

Everton had an official approach turned down for the Premier League champions' head of recruitment, Walsh, on Monday, but remained hopeful that he would join their new project under owner Farhad Moshiri.

And Walsh, keen to speak to Everton about the position they had available, has now made the move, despite the Foxes being expected to demand compensation from the Goodison Park club
