Everton are ahead of Tottenham in the chase for Olympique Marseille midfielder Modeste M'Bami.
M'Bami's contract has just over a year to run and he is ready to move to the Premiership in the summer. Everton boss Dave Moyes sees M'Bami as a potential long-term successor for veteran Lee Carsley.
