Everton are battling Arsenal for wantaway Sevilla midfielder Steven N'Zonzi.
Arsenal have been linked with a January move for N'Zonzi, who has been dumped from the first team squad at Sevilla after falling out with coach Eduardo Berizzo.
However, Le 10 Sport says Arsenal are trailing in the race for the midfielder's signature with Everton now having stepped forward.
Indeed, it's suggested Everton are showing the keenest interest of any suitor.
No offer has yet been tabled, but new Everton boss Sam Allardyce fancies a reunion with N'Zonzi, having brought him to England while in charge of Blackburn Rovers.
