Everton agree to match Celtic price for Van Dijk

Everton are reviving interest for Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk.

STV says Everton are back in the hunt for Van Dijk, having agreed to pay the £10million asking price.

Roberto Martinez is in the market to strengthen in the position after releasing both Sylvain Distin and Antolin Alcaraz this summer while Chelsea continue to court John Stones despite Goodison chiefs telling them that the England international is not for sale.

Breda-born van Dijk joined the Scottish champions two years ago from Groningen in a £2.6million deal.
