Egypt international Emad Meteb is joining Everton in January after agreeing a £2 million fee.
Blues boss David Moyes wanted the 25-year-old striker, who impressed at this year's African Nations Cup, during the summer.
Meteb almost left Cairo club Al Ahly for Bristol City in a £1.5m deal, but instead joined Saudi Arabian side Ittihad on loan.
Meteb's agent Mohamed Hamid said: "I travelled to England a week ago to agree on the final details of the contract with Everton. We agreed on everything.
"Emad was informed about the course of negotiations, and he is glad about it."
