Everton fullback Leighton Baines was delighted to see action for England in victory over Brazil.
Although Chelsea's Ashley Cole got the nod to start against Brazil and win his 100th cap, Baines is breathing down the Chelsea's stars neck.
Baines, 28, said: "It's not very often you get a chance to play against Brazil at Wembley so I was pleased to get on at half-time and play a part.
"I'm trying to challenge for the No 3 shirt but only the manager knows how close I am to achieving that.
"I'm doing what I can from my end, trying to keep my form up for Everton and playing as well as I can to keep myself in the frame."
