Jonny Evans is on the verge of a senior return after turning out for Manchester United's U21 side on Monday.
The Northern Ireland defender has been sidelined since injuring his calf against Stoke City on February 1 but managed to get through a little over an hour with the U21 team who beat Aston Villa 3-0.
Evans, who has missed 12 first team fixtures, performed well in front of manager David Moyes and first-team coach Phil Neville as he looks to return to the Premier League fold before the end of the season.
