After falling behind in front of a passionate crowd, Ryan Giggs' splendid equaliser ensured a share of the spoils.
"It was a tough game," Evans admitted to ManUtd.com at the Estadio da Luz. "Especially after going a goal down, we pulled it back and it was a great goal by Giggsy.
"They pressed us pretty well and stopped us playing out from the back. They forced us to go back to the goalkeeper quite a lot. Benfica play a lot of possession in their own half and we probably could have done a bit better in the first period but we did better in the second half."
