Actress Eva Longoria was on hand to support David Beckham as the LA Galaxy defeated New York Red Bull on the weekend.

The Desperate Housewives star and husband, San Antonio Spurs basketballer Tony Parker, attended the match and it seems as though Longoria was trying to get the injured Beckham's attention from the stands.

Photos were released showing Parker looking unhappy as Longoria waved to Beckham but it turns out that they are just good friends, with Longoria and Beckham's wife Victoria being very close.

"Victoria's a lovely woman," Longoria told the Mirror.

"Both our husbands are sports stars and they both travel, and Victoria's had some great advice for me on how to cope with that.

"She's a great mother, too. If you ever see her around her kids, you'll see that everything - everything - is about them and David.

"She's a good role model. I really want my marriage to be like hers."
