Eusebio Sacristan has been named new coach of Girona.

Initial queries regarding Manchester City backroom members Mikel Arteta and Domenec Torrent, both employed by Girona's parent club, failed to come off and the club opted for someone with knowledge of LaLiga.

Former Barcelona B coach Eusebio was sacked by Real Sociedad last season.

Marca reports Eusebio secured the job after he stated in a meeting with Girona officials that he is willing to work with the current squad and won't request wholesale changes for their second year at the highest level.
