Stoke are through to the Europa League qualifying play-offs with a 1-0 win on the night at Hajduk Split and 2-0 on aggregate. The Potters would have been looking for an early goal to settle their nerves but Jonathan Walters allowed defender Ljubo Milicevic to block his weak effort.
This miss could have proved costly for the visitor's as the Croatians piled on the pressure after the break with Anas Sharbini and Dinko Trebotic both looking dangerous.
But a late own goal confirmed Stoke's passage into the next round as Milicevic turned Dean Whitehead's cross into his own net deep into injury time for the Potters first ever success in European competition.
