EUROPA LEAGUE - Round of 32: Tottenham rally to edge ten-man Dnipro

Tottenham have come from behind to beat Dnipro 3-1 at White Hart Lane on Thursday night to progress to the Europa League Round of 16.

Spurs, who lost 1-0 in Ukraine last week, found themselves a goal down early in the second half before rallying against ten-man Dnipro to record a 3-2 aggregate triumph thanks to a second-half double from Emmanuel Adebayor.

Roman Zozulya was the hero and the villain for Dnipro, scoring the opening goal, before being sent off in the midst of Tottenham's 13-minute, three-goal frenzy.

Zozulya headed the visitors into the lead in the 48th minute but Christian Eriksen pulled one back for the north Londoners when he beat Dnipro keeper Denys Boyko with a curling free-kick in the 56th minute.

That preceded the sending off of Zozulya for an off-the-ball headbutt on Jan Vertonghen which motivated Spurs to level the two-legged tie when Eriksen sent a low cross into the six-yard box for Adebayor to slide home.

In the 69th minute, the Tottenham comeback was complete when Adebayor controlled Zeki Fryers' cross with his chest and flicked beyond Boyko with a sublime piece of skill.

Dnipro chased a third goal of the tie with star winger Yevhen Konoplyanka twice testing the Spurs defence but Hugo Lloris was on hand to deny the Ukraine international and keep his side in the ascendancy as they set up a Round of 16 meeting with Benfica.

The first leg sees Tottenham host the Portuguese side on March 13 before heading to Estadio da Luz on March 20.
