EUROPA LEAGUE QUALIFYING ROUND: Liverpool through with 4-0 aggregate success

Liverpool made light of their Europa qualifying round with a 4-0 aggregate success over Gomel after a 3-0 victory at Anfield. The Reds were fortunate to come away with a 1-0 win in Gomel but on home soil were just too strong for their Belarusian opponents.

Fabio Borini volleyed the opener on his home debut midway through the first period and Steven Gerrard ended the game as a contest with a close range effort just before the break.

Glen Johnson then added a third in the second half.
