Tottenham have recoiled from the weekend's 6-0 loss to Manchester City by beating Tromso 2-0 in Norway.
Spurs kept their 100% winning record in Europe alive for this season by getting the better of the Norwegian side in the Arctic Circle to go seven points clear on top of Group K.
An own-goal from Adnan Cauevic, which was deflected in from a Vlad Chiriches shot, and Mousa Dembele's first goal since October - courtesy of a neat ball from Gylfi Sigurdsson - gave the visitors maximum points for the fifth time in the group stage.
However, it wasn't quite the performance the manager Andre Villas-Boas would have been looking for as his side laboured in the chilly conditions but after a six-goal loss just five days earlier, any win would have been warmly received.
Tottenham next meet second-placed Anzhi Makhachkala at White Hart Lane in their final group stage fixture on December 12 while Tromso head to Romania to meet third-placed Sheriff Tiraspol.
