Olivier Giroud's 85th minute goal helped Arsenal defeat Red Star Belgrade 1-0 in the Europa League on Thursday night.

The Gunners traveled to the hostile Serbian atmosphere with a young squad as Ashley Maitland-Niles, Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson all started.

After being criticised by Watford forward Troy Deeney for having no 'cojones', Arsenal responded in the perfect way - by grinding out a tough away win.

The Serbs were left with ten men when Milan Rodic was shown his second yellow card.

And five minutes later, Arsenal had their breakthrough. After some neat interplay between Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott, Giroud miraculously shot with an overhead kick into the top corner.

The win sees Arsenal go five points clear at the top of Group H. They next take on Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.
