EUROPA LEAGUE 2ND LEG: Man City cruise past Porto

Manchester City built on a goal after only 19 seconds then added a late flourish to defeat Porto 4-0 on the night and 6-1 on aggregate. City had the perfect start when Otamendi gave away possession and Yaya Toure played the ball through for Sergio Aguero to finish clinically for his 20th goal of the campaign.

And this was to prove the difference between the two teams for despite Europa Cup holders Porto enjoying long spells of possession they failed to convert their dominance into goals and will feel the scoreline is somewhat harsh.

The Portuguese outfit continue their record of never having won in England and were given a lesson in finishing by City who were content to sit back and catch the visitor's on the break.

Porto poured forward after the break but rarely troubled Joe Hart the City keeper. And the host's showed them how to score with three goals in the final fifteen minutes.

A counter attack split the Porto rearguard and Aguero's pass was converted by substitute Edin Dzeko. Porto's night was complete as Rolando was dismissed for a second yellow card as he disputed the goal.

On 83 minutes David Silva had the simplest of chances as Porto's defence disintegrated and within two minutes the rout was complete as another City substitute, David Pizarro, scored his first goal for the club.
