Euro2016: 'Ugly duckling' Eder now a 'beautiful swan' - Portugal boss Santos

Portugal striker Eder was an unlikely hero for his national side as he scored a stunning extra-time winner against France in the Euro2016 final on Sunday night.

Portugal coach Fernando Santos revealed that the 28-year-old, who failed to score for Swansea City last season, had earlier told him that he would score in the Euro decider in Paris.

"When he came on he told me he would score," Santos said after the game.

"The ugly duckling went and scored. Now he's a beautiful swan."

Eder joined Swansea from Sporting Braga last summer but was sent on loan to Lille before permanently joining the French club earlier this summer.
