Portugal hero Eder has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo said to him during the team's successful Euro2016 final against France.
The Lille striker, who struggled at Swansea City last season, scored a stunning winner in the 109th minute of Portugal's 1-0 triumph over the hosts in Paris.
Portugal captain Ronaldo was forced out of the game with a knee injury in the 25th minute but according to Eder, still had a great impact on the contest by giving his teammates the confidence to push on produce a win without him.
"[Ronaldo] told me I would score the winning goal for the team," the striker told Portuguese newspaper O Jogo.
"He gave me this strength, this energy and it was vital.
"It was a goal I've been working for from the first minute of the Euros."
"For all the work we did, for all of the Portuguese, it's fantastic. It's well deserved and we should all be congratulated."
