EURO2016: Italy versus Spain, France to meet Ireland and England against Iceland in Round of 16

The Round of 16 fixtures for Euro2016 have been set after the completion of the group stage matches.

By far the biggest of all eight games is the blockbuster between Italy and Spain after the reigning champions finished second in Group D and the Azzurri first in Group E.

The contest in Paris on Monday is a rematch of the 2012 Euro final which Spain won 4-0 in Kiev.

Hosts France will take on the Republic of Ireland in what promises to be a tasty encounter as the Irish will still have the Thierry Henry 'Hand of Frog' incident during 2010 World Cup qualifying fresh in their minds.

That match will occur in Lyon on Sunday.

England have landed what some would see as a favourable knockout stage draw in the form of Iceland, who were runner-up in Group F. The clash to take place in Nice on Monday.

In the other Round of 16 matches, World Champions Germany are up against Slovakia, Switzerland will meet Poland, Wales will take on Northern Ireland in another derby of sorts, Croatia will come up against Portugal and Hungary will encounter Belgium.
