Iceland's Aron Gunnarsson has revealed that he decided to play football over European handball when he was 15 years old.
The Cardiff City player, who comes from a big handball family, has troubled opponents with his long throw-ins at Euro2016 which he attributes to his familiarity with the game of handball.
Wales boss Chris Coleman signed Gunnarsson to Cardiff in 2008.
"My agent told Chris Coleman that I could take long throws before he signed me," said Gunnarsson.
"I used to play handball when I was younger, that is where the technique and strength comes from.
"People can have arms twice the size of mine but it won't matter because it's all about the way you throw it and not how hard you throw it.
"I only decided to go down the football line and focus on that when I was 15. It was a hard decision because my father is a big handballer and my brother plays professionally for Hamburg in Germany. I come from a big handball family.
"But it is a weapon especially for us because we have the kind of players who can head the ball. And we managed to score from it against Austria."
