Euro2016: Hodgson will not drop Tottenham star Kane as England get set for Wales

England boss Roy Hodgson will resist dropping Harry Kane for this week's Euro2016 clash with Wales.

According to the Daily Star, the Three Lions manager is likely to keep the Tottenham striker in his starting line-up for Thursday's Group B meeting with the Dragons in Lens.

There have been calls to omit the 22-year-old after a lacklustre performance in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Russia in Marseille but it is understood that Hodgson will stick with the Premier League's Golden Boot winner.

Leicester City star Jamie Vardy is seen as a preferred option while Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge's name has also been put forward but Hodgson is set to give Kane another chance despite the fact he looked fatigued during England's opening match of the UEFA tournament.

Kane has played 61 times in all competitions for both club and country this season while Vardy has appeared 45 times and Sturridge and Manchester United's Marcus Rashford significantly less.
