Euro2016: Coleman happy to run with ‘one-man team’ description of Bale-led Wales

Wales boss Chris Coleman has no concerns that critics believe his side consists of just one star player.

Real Madrid ace Gareth Bale attracts all the attention and acclaim with the Dragons squad but that does not necessarily mean he is the only one who performs at the top level.

Following Monday night's dominant 3-0 win over Russia, which saw Wales finish on top of Group B, Coleman spoke of the alleged one-man team label that has been placed on his side due to the presence of Bale who scored his third goal of the tournament in Toulouse.

"If you've got a player like Gareth Bale who plays for Real Madrid and scores the goals he does I don't mind people saying that," said the Welsh manager.

"I can understand that. At times he has won games doing something extraordinary but anyone who's played football knows you need team spirit.

"I can see why people call us a one-man team because he's the guy who scores great goals and he is a great player.

"He understands the help he gets around him from his team-mates, he enjoys the style of play we've implemented.

"If we're honest, he's probably played a lot better for us - but it looked as if it was a matter of time before he scored."

Aaron Ramsey opened the scoring with a lovely finish in the 11th minute from a piercing Joe Allen ball before left-back Neil Taylor added a second less than 10 minutes by scoring his first ever international goal as Wales edged past neighbours England to take top billing in their group.
