Euro2016: ‘As a nation we are small, but our heart is like a continent’ - Wales boss Coleman

Chris Coleman was full of praise for his Wales team after they beat Russia 3-0 at Euro2016 on Monday.

The Dragons clinched top spot in Group B thanks to the dominant victory which came courtesy of goals from Aaron Ramsey, Neil Taylor and Gareth Bale, delivering six points from three group stage matches.

The country of Wales has a population of just over 3 million while Russia dwarfs them with their near 150 million but that certainly did not look the case in Toulouse, as pointed out by a proud Coleman.

"Looking at the group with England, Russia and Slovakia we knew it was going to be tough, and it was all down to the last game," he said.

"To win it was great. I'm very proud of the players.

"We enjoyed tonight and being at the top of the group is a bonus. The performance was really pleasing.

"I've been a player myself. I'm so lucky to be experiencing something now as a manager, at a tournament, and to see the team perform like that, it's really pleasing.

"I'm immensely proud. Nights like tonight when you see your supporters... As a nation, geographically we're small. But for heart, we were a continent tonight."
