Samuel Eto'o insists he's happy to wait before opening new contract talks with Barcelona.

The Cameroon striker is inside the final 18 months of his current deal, but while insisting he wants to stay, Eto'o says there's no need to rush negotiations.

Eto'o, who has been linked with Manchester City this month, said: "We have to wait until everything is finished, let everything run well, then we'll talk about it. Right now, we do not need to bring in things that will confuse.

"I just want to believe in training and matches and approach renewing my contract when the time is right. If that time comes, I will let everyone know."
