Real Madrid held talks with Inter Milan about signing Samuel Eto'o in January, it has been revealed.
Eto'o was actually brought to Europe by Real before joining Real Mallorca and eventually being sold to Barcelona.
Sport says Real explored the prospect of signing the Cameroon international last month as they went searching for a new striker.
Eto'o was interested, but his huge wages at Inter scuppered the move.
